INCREDIBLY SIMPLE TIPS FOR SELF DEFENSE

How you should react when you are attacked and you do not know how to fight back? Hits, weapons and techniques in order for you to get away.

 Rule of the Thumb

If someone pulls you by the arm do not resist his grip by trying to pull it away from your attacker. Instead, turn your wrist, so that your thumb is aligned with the part where your attacker’s thumb in connected with his fingers and then pull your arm away suddenly while bending your wrist.

Small Target

A general rule for facing a possible attack, is to turn on your side so you become a smaller target. Try to keep your attacker/ opponent away from you. While being on your side, extend one of your feet forward so you can achieve a safety distance to protect your head.

A hit to the genitals

A direct and strong hit to the genitals of your attacker with a simultaneous open palmed hit to the ear, like a slap, will disorient him and will give you the highly valuable time to get away or call for help.

A hit to the knee

A sudden kick to the knee of your attacker, is really easy to happen, very difficult for him to block compared to a hit in the face or the genitals, and will give you the time to get away.

A hit to the “nerves”

A weak hit to the area that is slightly below the ear to the neck, will cause severe pain and spasms to your attacker. A stronger hit might cause a heart attack, loss of the senses or even death.

A hit to the chest

A strong hit in center of the area directly below chest, located in the area where your ribs are connected, causes so much pain that will give you the upper hand and allow you to escape.

Pressure on the eyes

When someone threatens to choke us from the front, a good technique is to use your fingers to exert pressure in your attacker’s eyes.

Pull at your hair

If someone attacks you from behind and pulls you from the hair, what you can do is either raise your arm or arms and neutralize his by stopping it from moving. Then you turn around and you kick him in the genitals or in the knee, or you simply run and get away.

Useful objects

You can use objects from your surrounding environment, like your keys, dirt, rocks or a piece of wood. You can also always carry around in your bag something that in cases of emergency can act as a “weapon”, like for example pepper spray or a comb. The last one would inflict a lot of pain on your assailant if you press it firmly on your attacker’s upper lip area.
